Treatment System
The District operates two water reclamation facilities: the East Canyon Water Reclamation Facility (ECWRF) and the Silver Creek Water Reclamation Facility (SCWRF). We also operate a certified laboratory and manage a solids beneficial use program. Further, we administer a pretreatment program for commercial and industrial customers. Tours of our facilities are encouraged and may be arranged by contacting Michael Boyle at 435-649-7993 x229.

The ECWRF, with a capacity of 4.0 million gallons/day, treats wastewater from Park City, The Canyons, and western Snyderville Basin and returns the cleaned water to East Canyon Creek, which then flows into East Canyon Reservoir. The ECWRF is currently the only facility in the state that removes Phosphorus from the wastewater. Enter to see the facility’s awards, processes, staff, current permits, and relevant links. |

The SCWRF, with a capacity of 2.0 million gallons/day, treats wastewater from Park City, Promontory, and eastern Snyderville Basin and returns the cleaned water to Silver Creek, which then flows into Echo Reservoir. Enter to see the facility’s awards, processes, staff, current permits, and relevant links. |

The District’s laboratory is certified by the state under the very stringent NELAC (National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Commission) standards. The lab provides analytical data used to monitor the reclamation facility’s effectiveness and ensure compliance with our discharge permits. Enter to see the lab’s awards, equipment, staff, and relevant links.

The reclamation facilities remove materials from the wastewater as part of the water reclamation process. These solids are thickened, or concentrated, and disposed of in a beneficial reuse program. The District is currently exploring alternate methods of solids reuse and is also participating in the National Biosolids Program (NBP). The NBP creates a system of continual improvement in solids management. Enter to see the solids facilities, current reuse program, recent solids management study, and relevant links. |
